Air Fryer Ribeyes....say whaaaat?

Updated: Feb 22, 2021

I mean seriously, what can't an Air Fryer do? Well I am here to tell you, it CAN cook a RIBEYE PERFECTLY. Everyone has their opinions on how steak should be cook and if you've looked at the rest of my blog, you know I am a Grill Queen. However, if the grill is covered in ice and snow, I would not turn my head to this juicy with crispy edge Air Fried steak.

Air Fryer Used: Ninja Foodi 6.5qt, any air fryer can be used. Times & Temp may vary.

Time Needed: Depends on how you prefer your steak cooked, but allow at least 10 minutes extra to rest before slicing & serving.

Temperature Guide for Steak:

125°-130° F for Rare

130°-140° F for Medium-Rare

140°-150° F for Medium

150°-155° F for Medium-Well

160°+ F for Well-Done

Ingredients:

  • 2 Ribeye Steaks

  • Bacon Grease ( or olive oil )

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Garlic

  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

  • Your Favorite Steak seasoning, optional.

Directions:

  • Before starting, I recommend seasoning your steak then letting it sit on the counter for 20-30 mins. Room temperature steak calls for a juicier finish.

  • If using a Ninja Foodi, set it to sear/saute on high and throw some bacon grease or drizzle some oil in the bottom of the pot. If you are using a different air fryer, simply use a hot pan on the stove top.

  • Sear your steak on both sides for 1-2 minutes each

  • Take steaks outs, put fryer basket in, and set to 390* . Let this preheat, you need a hot basket.

  • For my one inch steaks, it took about 8 minutes for a medium temperature. Check half way through and flip.

  • Once finished, top with a slice of butter & let rest for 8-10 minutes before slicing.
